Hello!
Hi, I’m Jia Tong Lin (You can also call me Vivian)— a high school student passionate about biomechanics, mathematics, and ethical research. I am currently a senior at Yorba Linda High School, and I hope to be a human-centered engineer in the future. In my spare time, I love to bake, create surprise 3D-modeled gifts for my family and friends, edit films, and dance Latin Dance.
I founded Walk Again (501(c)(3) Pending), a nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity, mobility, and emotional well-being for seniors through compassionate engagement and innovative technology. The inspiration for this organization is actually deeply personal. My grandma's accident and rehabilitation inspired me to look deeper into the emotional and physical struggles behind limited mobility. This organization was piloted in 2024.
If you’re interested in healthcare-centered innovation, youth-led community impact, or aging with dignity, I’d love to connect! 🌿
My Vision for Walk Again
Looking ahead, we plan to expand Walk Again’s reach by merging compassionate care with innovation on a larger scale. After finalizing our 501(c)(3) status, I hope to pilot programs that integrate exoskeletons and mobility-assist prototypes into senior living communities to collect real-time feedback and improve design accessibility.
Beyond technology, we aim to create “Tech Buddies” and “Walk with Me” initiatives that pair students with seniors for digital literacy training, outdoor walks, and dance-based movement therapy. As a result, we can make rehabilitation feel like companionship rather than treatment.
To sustain long-term impact, we would train volunteers through empathy-based workshops, measure outcomes such as emotional well-being and independence, and publish our findings in a community impact report.
Ultimately, I envision Walk Again growing into a youth-led network that partners with engineers, therapists, and care homes across California.
